Bio:
Billy “THUMPAH ” Ferraro realized his “destined” instrument just days after receiving a toy drum on his first Christmas at the age of 9 months old.
The relationship of boy and drum quickly became comparable to the one that Linus Van Pelt shares with his beloved blanket. As a result of his persistence, obvious devotion and possibly to thwart the further destruction of dashboard, pot lid, mattress and ottoman “drum kits”, his parents took note and landed him a REAL drum kit.... It was on!
While studying with respected instructors like Jim Lattini (his step-dad's cousin) and Berklee professor Bruce Gertz, he was also cutting his teeth with countless local bands and musicians in many different genres. A few bands that he has performed/recorded with in no particular order are: The Tom Dixon Band, Fortune, Erick Preston's - Jimi Hendrix Experience, BarrNone, Love Stained Rhythm, The Painkillaz, Legion of Doom, Analog Kidz, Sweet Roy Jones and he has performed in former Boston Celtic forward Walter McCarty's "Save the Music Foundation" backing band.
Since 2011, he has been a member of Nashville recording artist Tom Dixon's North East touring band.
Currently Billy is based out of NH and performs with various projects in and around New England.
He is open to and available for freelance work.
